Forget the soft pink and red makeup trends — these Orange, yellow, and blue blush hues makeup are taking over right now, and Instagram is obsessed with it.
Purple blushes became popular after TikTok user Rachel Rigler applied Nudestix’s Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze in the eggplant shade Moodie Blu Berry to her cheeks in August 2021. Instead of the usual pinks and reds, other creators were now rushing to get their hands on blushes with shades of plum, berry, and violet.

Freja Bermann of Denmark explored with bright yellow blush after being inspired by other creators, but she didn’t stop there. She combined multiple hues to make a blush rainbow and dug into black pigments for an edgy moment.
Blush creators are more interested in experimenting with color and arrangement than accurately recreating a natural flush. Wearing unusual hues isn’t as difficult or intimidating as it seems; a basic understanding of color theory will help you a lot.
When applying blush, makeup artist Marie Bruce tells Allure that she prefers to choose complementary colors.
